Dr. Koutnouyan is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He joined the practice in 1997 after completing a residency training program at KaiserHospital in Oakland, California. He received his medical education at the University of California in San Diego, and his undergraduate education at the University of California in Riverside where he graduated with high honors. He has published six scientific peer reviewed articles on the subjects of hearing, ear infections, ear surgeries and cancers in the head and neck.

Dr. Koutnouyan sees adult and pediatric patients with medical and surgical ailments of the ears, nose, sinuses, oral cavity, throat, voice box, neck and face. His expertise includes diagnosis and treatment of ear infections and hearing loss, nasal congestion and allergies, snoring and sleep apnea, hoarseness and swallowing problems. In addition, he offers comprehensive surgical treatments for cancers of the face, oral cavity and the throat, benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, and reconstruction and the cosmetic enhancement of the post traumatic and aging face. He has a particular interest in cosmetic ethnic rhinoplasties and in rejuvenating treatments to the aging face.

Dr. Koutnouyan stays current with medical innovations and cutting edge technologies by attending regional and national medical conferences. He currently uses several radiofrequency instruments to perform tonsillectomies with less pain and "down time", and to treat nasal congestion and snoring with minimally invasive techniques. When indicated, he uses computerized image guidance technology to bring additional safety and accuracy to his endoscopic sinus surgeries. He has been using endoscopic techniques, when possible, to treat voice and swallowing disorders, which has allowed his patients to return to their usual activities quickly and with less discomfort.

Dr. Koutnouyan sees patients in the Glendale and Pasadena Offices. He is on the medical staff of several area hospitals including the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, the Glendale Adventist and the Verdugo Hills Hospitals in Glendale, and the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the AmericanAcademy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Los Angeles Society of Otolaryngology and the Los Angeles County Medical Association.
